It’s countdown time before Beyonce’s kickoff at Super Bowl XLVII this Sunday, Feb. 3. My soul is ready for some wig-snatching, leotard-serving, booty-shaking, soon-the-drag-queens-will-be-imitating, gods-worthy amazingness that only an act like Beyonce can deliver. Stan? Not I. Just a lover of profound Beyonce dopeness.
In addition to all of the little treats Beyonce’s been dropping on her Instagram,
Rumors are sparking after a leaked photo of King Bey in all of her glory hit the internet last night. According to the Rumor Mill, this is merely one shot from the supposed Beyonce and Annie Leibovitz collaboration for Vogue’s March 2013 cover. I can admit, I wasn’t going to report this story until I got confirmation, but the photo is so damn sick, how could I not?
In more BaddieBey reports, check out this behind the scenes video of Beyonce’s photoshoot for her “Pulse NYC” fragrance campaign.
Of the choice name of the new scent and shooting in New York, Beyonce says,
“I thought that now that I am a New Yorker and I’ve learned about how I can accomplish anything in this city, I felt it was an appropriate energy for the new fragrance.”
Such a bold statement to be made about the acclaimed fashion designer and couturier. Said statement will be emblazoned in my mind forever.
Mary Blume exposes the private and public life of Cristóbal Balenciaga in her biography, “The Master of Us All: Balenciaga, His Workrooms, His World” (Farrar, Straus & Giroux).
Included in her accounts is his relationship with business associate and longtime lover, Wladzio Jaworowski d’Attainville; his choice to move to France , his protégé, Hubert de Givenchy; and his eye for design.
Definitely a worthwhile purchase. Find out what else is in store at WWD.
Random: I get tickled pink with myself at the frequency that I can confuse a Givenchy design with Balenciaga design. Even today, you can still see an inspiration in Givenchy’s designs.
I mentioned in my blog post yesterday that Alexander Wang would be taking a more “comedic” approach to his Spring 2013 Campaign. Well, here’s the first Spring 2013 Alexander Wang Ad Campaign installment starring Bon Qui Qui!!!
“He’s here to buy a shirt, so he’s too good to flirt!” Lord, I can’t deal.
Bon Qui Qui takes on Alexander Wang. Well, sorta. The designer has decided to take a fun, new approach to his Spring 2013 T by Alexander Wang campaign by developing a comedy sketch featuring Madtv’s, “Bon Qui Qui.” The role will be reprised by comedienne Anjelah Johnson.
Bon Qui Qui is about a couple of employees who terrorize the patrons of “King Burger” and Bon Qui Qui as their leader.
Cameos for the Wang comedy ads will include A$AP Rocky, Alessandra Ambrosio, Natasha Lyonne, Simon Doonan and Shannon Click.
“I first watched Bon Qui Qui three years ago. The part when she complains about taking out the blender is a classic! It was fun to bring in some friends and people from the industry, and to see how they interacted with BQQ. The chemistry, or lack of, was the cherry on the cake.”
Be sure to check out the film debut set to air on the Alexander Wang website and YouTube channel Wednesday.
