Welcome to my first “Runway To Real World.” R2R is the portion of this website in which we take haute couture collections and provide inexpensive alternatives that offer similar styles & elements for the fashionista on a budget. God willing, there’s much more where this came from.
In the first installment, we take a crack at Lanvin’s Pre-Fall 2013 Collection.
According Lanvin’s artistic director, Alber Elbaz (love!), the pre-fall collection is
“a mix of wildness and classics.”
The collection presents a clever fusion of vintage silhouettes offset by bold animal prints and contrasting fabrics.
The current Jacquard trend was utilized on leopard sweatshirts and cocktail dresses. Metallic animal print skinny pants are also on the menu. What else is being served? Tunic dresses with gorgeous embellishments partnered with leopard slouched knee high boots to render carefree elegance for any occasion. Expect to see lots of contrasting prints on prints on prints.
Wool & Neoprene coats cut to perfection and render a futuristic yet traditional, menswear vibe.
My personal favorite is this all-black ensemble with fur, quilt, and satin textures accessorized by wide brimmed fur fedoras and crystal clutches.
