Jean Paul Gaultier’s Spring 2013 collection radiates with Middle Eastern flair. The Indian Gypsies-themed couture assemblage has a little something from every fashion lover, from the daring in sheer floor length dress adorned with tribal-inspired gold prints complemented by shades of violet to the conservative glamourous olive trench coat over a saffron colored gown.
Hints of glitter and shimmer sashayed down the runway. Purple and gold peasant topped gowns, gold harem pants and silver lamé with crystal-embroidered mermaid-esque skirts glimmered in casual excellence.
Most prolific note from Gaultier? Stripes and layers. You can visibly see a balance of each with a sheer striped blouse with matching striped sheer balloon pants overlay by a thigh high split glitter skirt. Stripes of every color combination, from chocolate and amethyst to navy blue and classic white found there way onto gowns as well as bustiers.
Mixed prints, patchwork and fringe made an appearance on the catwalk. Spicy shades of browns, gold, oranges, and greens trickled seamlessly through the collection.
A cream drawstring gown with gold embellishments surprised as it was drawn up to expose Gaultier babies concealed beneath it to close the show.
Check out the entire collection including a special homage to Gaultier himself in the shape of cone bras circa Madonna reign era.
Such an inspiring collection!!!
