Floral Prints not your style? A bit too dainty for your taste? Add some culture to your wardrobe with Eastern Influential style.
Let’s take a “Where In The World Is Carmen Sandiego” trip far East. We’re talking India, China and Japan, just to get you in the right mental space.
Much like florals, there was an influx of Asian-inspired prints and stylings on the runways of Prada, Jean Paul Gaultier and Etro for Spring. Geometric shapes incorporated into kimono-like designs and breath taking prints demand attention. For blouse, jacket or crop top creations that pay homage to our distant brethren, make note to keep other outfit pieces fitted to avoid looking larger and to highlight the shape.
For prints, more is more! Pile on the prints with contrasting tops and bottoms or play match maker like Peter Pilotto.
Or be valorous and pair the two!!! A great style plus a great print like Aquilano-Rimondi. Winning!!!!
Peacock’s Rule Of Thumb: I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again; don’t wait until the season comes to stock up on your seasonal wardrobe. Get them early or be forced to face price inflation and unavailable sizes. It’s about planning, people!!! Also, when shopping for “trendy” pieces, be sure they have an element of classic appeal. Classic cuts, like sheath dresses and well-tailored pants, never go out of style.
Get your Eastern fix started when some pieces I pulled especially for you!!! Great style has no prejudice!!! Your height, weight or complexion means nothing when you know how to work with what you’ve got!!
