Italian designer Salvatore Ferragamo has launched the “Fondazione Ferragamo” foundation, an institute to promote and encourage young, up and coming talent in the fashion industry.
The foundation, located in Florence, the birth place of the fashion house, will provide its apprentices with a curriculum based on the core values of its founder.
“Young people are the engine of any society, the force that ensures continuity and the future. They must have the chance to demonstrate their worth and their abilities,”
said Wanda Ferragamo, widow to Salvatore Ferragamo on the mantra driving the institution.
Selected students will be awarded with grants and scholarships and be afforded the opportunity to arrange cultural events in collaboration with the Salvatore Ferragamo Museum.
