British singer/songwriter Rita Ora is dripping in haute couture gorgeousness for not one but two covers for Elle Magazine’s May 2013 “Women In Music” Cover. In a pink
tulle, organza, and feather dress, leather gloves, and over-the-knee boots, from Chanel Haute Couture, the Kosovar-Albanian beauty expresses her refusal to allow her record label to dictate her sense of style:
“That should never be allowed! It’s like somebody telling you what to sing.”
And she had to get down and dirty to nail the now iconic red Marchesa gown for the 2012 MTV Europe Music Awards:
“I went up to [Marchesa designer Georgina Chapman] and said, ‘Hi, I’m Rita. Nice to meet you. I need to wear your dress.’ She was like, ‘What dress?’ They’ve got 10 million dresses. I said, ‘Look, I have your dress as the screen saver on my phone. This red dress needs to be on my body.'”
