UPDATE: New Music: Jay-Z, “100$ Bill” And Discusses Executive Producing The Great Gatsby

With each day we get closer to the premiere of  The Great Gatsby,  another glimpse is given into the highly anticipated accompanying soundtrack, in stores May 7 and available for pre-order on iTunes.

Expectantly, executive producer Jay-Z chops it up on the new record, “100$ Bill.”  Every song on the album will be featured in the movie, so I am curious as to how they will incorporate this one. Take a listen for yourself and feel free to give your feedback.

Check out Jay-Z’s discussion with BlackTree Media on the executive producing the film.

On how he came to become executive producer:

“Baz [Luhrmann] and Leo[nardo DiCaprio] came to a recording session while we were at the Mercer Hotel finishing up Watch The Throne, and I was working on a song called “No Church In The Wild.” And I was working on it while they were in the room. And we start playing some music, and we just talk about collaborating because I was collaborating with Kanye [West] at the time, and we just talk about the act and the art of  collaborating, and I guess that was the seed of the ideas.”

“Timeless music is timeless music.”
