Everyone knows I am very much an open book, sometimes to my own detriment.
Brought about courtesy of Mariah Carey’s “The Art Of Letting Go”, I expound upon my current emotional status as I have not in some time.
This Friday, November 15, would make eight years with my ex. I guess I’m supposed to be seething with anger or full disappointment, but instead I find myself in a tranquil state.
Sometimes you don’t understand why things go the way they do. When you give all of your effort, your concern, your devotion, your love, to someone and fall short of your romantic expectations, it will make you question yourself. Make you wonder why you weren’t enough. Wonder how the hell did things get to this point when you did your very best.
You’ll make yourself crazy with negativity and hurt.
I’ve decided to thank #November15 for teaching me all of the things I want, I need and I deserve. So many things I never knew about myself. In letting go of a bad relationship, you avail yourself to numerous opportunities and become open to abundant blessings. Letting go isn’t a sign of quitting but recognizing that removing yourself from a situation makes you strong. Sometimes things don’t work out, and you’re brave enough to understand that and accept it.
Everyone has a #November15 in their lives. Whether it’s that job that pays below wage and expects above average or that woman that would rather go out with her friends than be at home with you. From that time you were unappreciated by your friends or disregarded by your peers, there’s always a piece of gold in a pile of garbage.
And the best part? The most beautiful part? You went through hell, and you’re still here!!! You’re still alive, you’re still thriving and if nothing else, you have more insight into for your next go ’round. Coal can’t become diamonds without a little pressure. So rejoice that you’re on your way to being your diamond self!!! Celebrate your #November15
Please help me get the word out there!!!!
In the meantime, check out Mimi’s new song “The Art Of Letting Go”:
