It has been a hot minute since I did a product review. Phew, where does the time go?
While visiting my family in Florida last month (during the five-day blogging drought), I stumbled upon Dark and Lovely’s Au Naturale Coil Moisturizing Soufflé. Okay, it wasn’t quite a stumble, my mother had it and I had no hair care products (Not interested in checking bags!!! Challenge on to pack a carry-on!!!)
I was very skeptical about their hair care products for natural hair since this was the same company that, for all of my childhood, was the mecca of the creamy crack. It was like a snake trying to change its face, and of course the conspiracy theorist in me was convinced they were on some Undercover Brother type -ish, lowkey mixing their potent hair straightening products into to those designed for naturals. You can’t fool me.
But I was at a disadvantage. I had none of the items in my daily routine, plus I was looking for something that would rid me of the woes of curly hair shrinkage. “What the hell” was my logic. So I tread lightly into the sorbet-colored hair soufflé.
I have been lost in love ever since. It’s ultra light-weight, and works almost immediately (Though I still feel think the hair delicacy is laced with relaxer. Hmmm)
Application is simple, results are perfection. While your hair is wet, you apply a generous amount, and either use a diffuser or allow to air dry. I am a rebel so I follow none of the other suggestion for the other items for optimum results ’cause I’m a badass like that. Hmmmph (Definitely considering getting the other items in the line. Judge me not!)
Some of the other products in the line:
