It’s dreary, dark and damp in the Northeast (starting to feel like I live in Washington), but that should NOT put a damper on the fact it’s the freaking weekend!!!

I am very upset with my friends for not telling me about the awesomeness of this new Busta Rhymes song “Thank You” featuring Q-Tip and kinda-sorta-but-not-really also featuring Kanye “I Am A God” West and Lil’ “Weezie F Baby” Wayne. Continue reading

Kanye West To Collaborate With A.P.C. On Denim Capsule Collection

kanye-west-APC-preview

Are you ready for Kanye West’s next foray in fashion? You better be, as it has been confirmed by the most powerful sources that be, namely social media, that Kanye West will be taking his sartorial eye to French denim brand, A.P.C.

In his recent interview with W Magazine, West admitted that he was in the works of a menswear collection with a hip French brand” that would range in items from “jeans, T-shirts, and hoodies” that combine West’s” fashion-forward silhouettes with the cool minimalism for which the French brand is known.”

Jean Touitou, creative director of the denim line, provided further details into the partnership with the Louis Vuitton Don (has he moved passed this?) in the latest issue of GQ:

“I introduced him to the A.P.C. design studio, and he kept asking how he could start something in that fashion industry. This is when we all advised him to start that something in France, and keep quiet about fashion noise while learning about it. Over the months, we kept hanging out and finally came up with the idea of doing a small capsule collection of clothes together.”

The three-piece offerings will be available Bastille Day (aka the celebration of the first day of the French Revolution. Who are these amazing marketing people? I need them on my team) July 14. If the $200 price point for A.P.C. is any indication, you may be paying a hefty coin to get your hands on some of the wares.

As they enter the ’80s, it appears the gangs’ stardom has lost its lustre, but with the prospect of a 24 hour new channel courting the team, their reemergence may be upon the horizon.

New Music: John Legend, “Made To Love”

John-Legend-Made-To-Love-Music

Disclaimer: This song is on some “Kissing After Dark” type ish. Pregnancy upon listening may occur.

Unlike his usual smooth crooner, neo-soul vibe, John Legend creates his own Love Lockdown-esque sound on his new single, “Made To Love.”

The Kanye West produced track invokes an ethereal sexiness that draws you in with its African rhythm conjured by drums, slowing then quickening paces that make it impossible not to feel it at spirit’s base level.

“Made To Love” will appear on Legend’s new album, Love & The Future, which is also executive produced by Mr. Kanye West.

New Music: Kelly Rowland Feat. Beyonce and Michelle Williams, “You Changed” AND Kelly Rowland Feat. Wiz Khalifa, “Gone”

Destinys-Child-Kelly-Rowland-Beyonce-Michelle-You-Changed-New-Music-1

I cannot deny: I have been grooving to this song all week. But I felt it was appropriate to save it until Friday for all of my ladies (and gents) going through or at the tail end of a breakup. It’s okay to be upset, but don’t stay upset. Go to the back of your closet, throw on one of your beautiful “freakum dresses”, you know the ones your man had a problem with and thought you got rid of (LOL you know we all have them!!!), grab your best gal or guy pals and let the bull go. Go dancing, go get a drink, go have some fun to distract yourself from the hurt or anger. It is another summery weekend, get your ass up out of those sweatpants and put down the spoon as you slowly back away from the Ben & Jerry’s.

Kelly Rowland recruits her former bandmates Beyonce and Michelle Williams for the two-step, groove worthy, “You Changed.” Kelly exorcises her life of the man in her life that has changed. Like I said before, this is definitely my new breakup song.

“You’re looking like someone came and rained on your parade.”

“But when my tears dropped, where the hell were you?”

“If our love was a game, you just lost.”

In other Kelly related news, she teams up for another “eff your life” post-breakup song, “Gone” featuring Mr. Wiz Khalifa. The song takes a look at what happens when you let a good thing go. But honey, when Ms. Kelly is done, she is done!!! *adds to break up no make up playlist on Spotify* Wiz plays the unconvinced beau that thinks she’ll be right back. Hmmph.

Both songs will be available on Kelly’s new album, Talk A Good Game, due for release June 18, the same day as J. Cole’s Born Sinner, Kanye West’s Yeezus and Mac Miller’s Watching Movies With the Sound Off. Also the same day as Rihanna’s sophomore collection for MAC.
