That was how my year began. Nothing would bend to my will.
I love all things New Year’s Eve. Standing on an almost tangible edge into the future, the feeling of freshness and newness excites me. It encourages me. It allows me to move into a literal and figurative new dimension. Amore.
But this year? This year though? Pfft. Let’s recap, shall we? It’s my blog so yes we shall.
Another week, another fun fall trend to try!!! Anti-trendy me is daring to navigate the realms of the Northeast my way as I suggest you do as well. The leaves will be changing soon enough, so let’s hop to the next trend forecast!
I’ve been told that August is the Sunday of Summer. Much like Sundays, August is the time we enjoy those last glimpses of warm R&R while preparing ourselves for the wear and tear of the impending future. Soon enough, we’ll be saying au revoir to our go-to shorts and hello to sweaters and heavy boots. But as every fashionable lady knows, planning is half of the battle!!! Sometimes, the most rebellious outfits are the ones that are rebel-less. Where daring and badass was once taboo, conservative chic has become less typical and far and few between. Being a style maven can be found in ladylike looks when looking like a badass is overplayed. Oscar de la Renta’s Resort 2014 “resorts” to his classic taste as the collection is an amalgamation of chic, … Continue reading Runway To Real World: Oscar de la Renta Resort 2014
It has been quite some time since I posted a R2R, so let’s get to it!!!! Modest sexiness is the the word for Cushnie Et Ochs Fall 2013 collection. Jean Paul Gaultier’s Spring 2013 collection radiates with Middle Eastern flair. The Indian Gypsies-themed couture assemblage has a little something from every fashion lover, from the daring in sheer floor length dress adorned with tribal-inspired gold prints complemented by shades of violet to the conservative glamourous olive trench coat over a saffron colored gown. Hints of glitter and shimmer sashayed down the runway. Purple and gold … Continue reading Runway To Real World: Jean Paul Gaultier Spring 2013
This Runway To Real World is brought to you by Louis Vuitton’s Pre-Fall 2013 Collection. Much like its Spring 2013 predecessor, Louis Vuitton has yet again gone the 60s-inspired route, but with a darker, vampy twist. Inspired by the 1968 film, “The Bride Wore Black,” Louis Vuitton’s women’s studio director, Julie de Libran, offset rich deep shades of reds, blues, and oranges with neutral black, … Continue reading Runway To Real World: Louis Vuitton Pre-Fall 2013
I tell people all of the time that buying haute couture is fabulous… if you can afford it. If you can’t, why suffer your finances? Ladies & Gentlemen, act your wage. I have been lusting over these Valentino Rockstud Sandals for some time. They play on my love of a classic, T-strap pointed toe pump plus a dose of edge with the stud work. The … Continue reading Runway To Real World: Valentino Rockstud Sandals
Welcome to my first “Runway To Real World.” R2R is the portion of this website in which we take haute couture collections and provide inexpensive alternatives that offer similar styles & elements for the fashionista on a budget. God willing, there’s much more where this came from. In the first installment, we take a crack at Lanvin’s Pre-Fall 2013 Collection. According Lanvin’s artistic director, Alber Elbaz (love!), … Continue reading Runway To Real World: Lanvin Pre-Fall 2013
