New Video: Britney Spears, “Work B*tch”

Britney Spears new video, Work Bitch

I have been slacking of late when it comes to Britney Spears and her choice music for the last, I don’t know, seven years or so. For a long time, I thought she was doing promotion for the same album forever and a day.

But this song right here! “Work B*itch” feeds my inner drag queen ’til I want no more. Continue reading

Beyonce Vogue India May 2013 Cover

If you’re expecting coverage of Beyonce’s media takeover to end anytime soon, you might as well turn off your television, cancel your cell phone contract and move to Amish country. And even then, you may hear an occasionally “uh oh.”

Beyonce is owning Vogue cover after Vogue cover, this time landing on Vogue India’s May 2013 glossy, using outtakes from her Vogue Power Issue photo shoot back in March.

I’ve stopped keeping track of all the things Beyonce has done since the year started. Now can we get an official release of “Grown Woman” or “Standing On The Sun” please? Need them for my Zumba class. Thanks.

Carey Mulligan Vogue May 2013 Cover

I am not quite sure how I am going to properly verbalize the stunning magnitude of this cover, but I am going to at least try.

Draped in Oscar de la Renta and Tiffany & Co. jewels, Carey Mulligan radiates with ’20s elegance and beauty on Vogue’s May 2013 cover shot by Mario Testino. Starring in the remake of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s “The Great Gatsby“, the English actress is enwrapped in research for her role as Daisy Buchanan, pouring over the biography of Zelda Fitzgerald and Ginevra King, the inspirations for her take on the character:

“ ‘I seem always curiously interested in myself, and it’s so much fun to stand off and look at me. . . .’ That’s a direct Zelda quote. It’s that kind of feeling: I’m-so-little-and-there’s-nothing-to-me, watch-me-have-nothing-to-me. She feels like she’s living in a movie of her own life. She’s constantly on show, performing all the time. Nothing bad can happen in a dream. You can’t die in a dream. She’s in her own TV show. She’s like a Kardashian.”

Michelle Obama Vogue April 2013 Cover

Rarely do I post an article before Morning Motivation and Word Of The Day because I believe in getting your day off right with an encouraging thought and intellectual enrichment. But this could not wait.

First, Beyonce is on the cover of the March 2013 cover, then Tina Turner on the April 2013 cover of Vogue Germany, now First Lady Michelle Obama on the cover of April 2013? Why Vogue, do I smell diversity? (Though, all of the ladies have done above and beyond and thus have rightfully earned there places on the covers. Plus, this isn’t Beyonce and MObama’s first walk around the Vogue park as they have graced said glossy in the past. Hey, we’ve gotta start somewhere)

The beautiful FLOTUS will appear on next month’s cover looking as lovely as ever as she rocks her “mid-life crisis” bangs. Michelle speaks candidly to the publication about family life and the importance of maintaining a complete family even while attempting to steer the country:

“Our job is, first and foremost, to make sure our family is whole. You know, we have small kids; they’re growing every day. But I think we were both pretty straightforward when we said, ‘Our number-one priority is making sure that our family is whole.’ “

I love this woman.

Eva Mendes Face of Vogue Eyewear Campaign

Eva Mendes is the new model for Vogue Eyewear’s Spring 2013 Ad Campaign. Mendes will be featured in six prints by photographer Mario Testino that will appear in this week’s March magazines and online publications.

“I’m fortunate enough to borrow a lot of designer clothes, but the truth is, when I’m out there shopping on my own, I’m not a label type of girl. I carry the same handbag every day, and it’s not Hermès. I tend to gravitate toward accessories I can afford. The Vogue eyewear doesn’t have an elite quality to it, which is important to me,” says Mendes to WWD.

The glasses retail at $130 for optical and $95 for sunglasses.
