Peacock Finds: Fall And Winter 2013 Book Reads- Biographies

Alyssa Manners Fall Winter Reading List

I’m sure by now you’ve read or at least glimpsed at my About Me section, so you have an idea of who I am and my background. I have a joint degree in English and Journalism, so clearly my love for writing knows no limits. But I am also very passionate about reading. Sometimes (often times), television shows are simply not enough. Not enough substance, not enough depth, not enriching whatsoever. And where reruns of Sex And The City or Mad Men fail me (it’s rare), a book will forever find success.  Continue reading

First Look: Rashida And Kidada Jones Win In Band Of Outsiders’ Fall/Winter 2013 Campaign

I live and breathe for The Jones Sisters. Each a star within her own right: one is a phenomenal comedic actress, one is an incredible designer. Both hold a range of multi hyphenates to their name. Both are simply awesome.

Rashida and Kidada show up and SHOW OUT (this is a good thing, by the way) for the brand’s Fall/Winter 2013 Ad Campaign. Continue reading

First Look: Rihanna For River Island Autumn/Winter 2013 Lookbook

Lest you’ve been under a rock for the last year or so, you’ve seen a major fashion transition back to the ’90s. Hat to the back, basketball shorts and the likes have been on hand so often that the only way to differentiate athletes from athletically inspired celebrities is to look at their footwear. Rihanna is one particular lover of the trend as her latest collaborative collection with River Island continues on in the same vein as her previous looks: sexy athlete with loads of body baring flare. Roc Nation Takeover!!! Jay-Z And Rihanna’s Budweiser Commercials Plus Rihanna Gears Up For Third Collection With River Island

Roc Nation in the building!!! Yessir!!! LOL
Jay-Z and Rihanna are, in typical fashion, making waves. Both have released two separate though equally fly commercials for Budweiser’s Made For Music  campaign. Each delivers black and whites artistically chronicling their day to day lives.

Rihanna recently signed an 85-country campaign with the pale lager producer which will feature the Bajan bombshell in advertisements of every variety as they sponsor her Diamonds World Tour.

Music, according to Ricardo Marques, Bud’s global advertising director,

“allows us to bring Budweiser back as an icon of pop culture… It [Music] been a tremendous force in shaping pop culture around the world.”

Budweiser is also footing the bill for Jay-Z and Justin Timberlake’s “Legends Of The Summer” tour including the Made In America festival happening Labor Day weekend in The City Of Brotherly Love (Peacock Under Pressure will be in the mix, so if you see us, shout us a holla!!!).

“While the global effort was inspired by Made in America, it will have a separate identity. Rather than host music festivals across the globe, Bud will weave its brand into Jay-Z ‘s and Rihanna’s concerts through VIP experiences and other promotions. The brand will also partner with Facebook to create custom content, while putting on its YouTube channel behind-the-scenes footage of the TV campaign, which is called “Dreams Are Made.”

says Marques of the inspiration and progression of the collaborative efforts.

Watch the television and YouTube spots below.

Rihanna is a busy gal, isn’t she? Hot off of the heels of her second collaboration with River Island, here’s the Behind The Scenes footage of Rihanna For River Island Autumn 2013 collection. Layers, bubble coats, army fatigue, you know, the usual Rihanna aesthetic chock full of sex appeal. Items hit stores and the web September 12.

Peacock Or Not? Roberto Cavalli’s Fall/Winter 2013 Ad Campaign

MASTER RC_FW 2013-2014_no logo_9-9.pdf

Roberto Cavalli winterizes his Spring 2013 predilections by trading in his shades of blue and green inclinations for reds and golds for the Fall/Winter 2013 Ad Campaign.

Equally as show-stopping as its warm weather predecessor, the Italian designer calls upon the beauty of Liya Kebede, Iselin Steiro and Liu Wen to remind us why we fell for the designs in the first place. Three piece printed suits and separates, dresses and furs. Explosions of decadence and embellishment. All in true Cavalli fashion.

I adore, but is it Peacock or Not?

Tom Ford’s Fall/Winter 2013 Ad Campaign

I have been lusting over Tom Ford’s Fall/Winter 2013 collection ever since it hit the runway this February. I am especially enamored by the sequin bomber jackets and tribal over the knee boots a certain singer was spotted in this weekend.

Feast your eyes on the Fall/Winter 2013 Ad Campaign starring models Gemma Refoufi, Soo Joo Park, Herieth Paul, Oli Tyler, Conrad Bromfield, Zuzanna Bijoch & Juan Betancourt, and photographed by Mr. Tom Ford himself. The campaign is for Ford’s Women’s, Men’s and Eyewear Collections.

First Look: H&M Fall/Winter 2013-2014 Collection Lookbook

Though Summer has yet to grace us with its presence, Fall and Winter will quickly blast us right back out of sunny delirium. Dismal truth to living in the Northeast. LOL

As is,  inspired by Louis XIV, H&M debuted their first French collection this February during Paris Fashion Week.

And though the collection reminds me more of matadors than macarons, the collection is a lovely assemblage of pieces that I am sure will please all whose eyes .

It’s all about the details for these styles as theycome packed to capacity with fringe, tassels, floral cutouts, and sequin.

Included is this fringe covered clutch that reminds me of an abbreviated version of Carrie’s Fendi bag circa Burger.

I adore these fringe covered pants as well though definitely for someone with with an inconceivable amount of style. They are center stage worthy and to be pared down with a simple camisole and barely there shoe.

Again, I can’t help but connect to fashion’s past: is this not Mr. Michael Jackson and his “Rock With You” era?

This low-hi sequin sweatshirt though? *puts on must-have list*

Men’s and Sportswear inspired jackets are tailored to Utopian standards. Overcoats and vests are the perfect complement to whimsical dresses perfect for Spring and Fall (and the Tango. I’m just saying lol)
